Of course the Buddha was born in what is now Nepal - I think people get confused because there was no country called Nepal when the Buddha was born...the whole region was a collection of small kingdoms.

Most people with brians know that Buddha was born in Nepal. So, no point of aking this question. If some dick thinks buddha was born in India, it doesn't make it a fact, it just makes them an asshole.

Buddha was born in Nepal and so was I. I have been in his birthplace, Kapilvastu, Lumbini region of Nepal. There is a huge misconception that he was born in India and that's because some Indians say so. And a lot of people simply believe it just because they don't know the fact. Recently, there was an Indian movie released in which it is said that Buddha was born in India. People were protesting everywhere in Nepal; the movie got banned there. And I read that the producer of the movie said it was an error and apologized. It's not the first time this has happened and I guarantee it will not be the last one either because it seems to be their nature.

I know now , Thanks

I do and that's not because I am from Nepal, but because that is the fact.

Some Indians believe that Buddha was born in their country. This is blatantly false, since at the time Buddha was born, there was neither India nor Nepal. Also when india and Nepal were formed as independent country, the part where Buddha was born became a part of Nepal. So the place where Buddha was born was never a part of India.

What is however true is that he got enlightenment and dies in India. So the land of Buddha might be disputed whereas there can only be one answer as to where Lord Buddha was born - in Nepal
