I have recently read the book "Into Thin Air" by Jon Krakauer. It is based on a true life experience and in the book he says it costs about $65,000. You have to pay a hefty park fee of many thousands of dollars which makes up the bulk of the cost. Then you need a sherpa (carries food, tents, etc) a guide, supplies, etc. Training for climbing Mt Everest can take up to a year. Read the book before trying anything... there is a pretty high death rate.
