How safe is it to take a vacation to Nepal at present time?

Hi, everyone!
Just wandering, for those who travel to Nepal or live there:
How safe is it for travelling there at this moment? Would you recommend to go there for the trip? Will it be still safe to go there in upcoming years?
Thank you

Dont just flow with the rumours.
Nepal is a safe place for tourists, only Neplese are the one who are suffering. Your life wont be at risk, but be cautitous that u will have to pay time and again to different groups unnecessarily. This is no problem coz. u wont feel that expensive when you pay in Neplese rupees NRs.
You can enjoy mountaineering, trekking, boating, rafting and many onther things besides like the eversest, mountains, lakes, ponds, temples, monestries, national parks, conservation areas, elephat ride. Also have a look to one- horned rhino. You will feel close to mother nature.
I assure you , you will really have a different experience for which u will never regret.
Have a nice trip!!!

My name is Shrawan Magar and live in Nepal, and I've been working in this travel and tour agency.Well, my suggestion for you is to go there!!!, am not saying this just because I work for Tarevl agency. Its because , 1st of all its a very safe place for tourist and every one, 2nd of all since people all over the world , including Americans, are going there, having great time Trekking, rafting, bunjijumping( 2nd highest in Asia), Village touring, Peak climbing(the highest peak in the world Mt.Everest is in Nepal),Visiting holy places(buddhist-stupa Soyambhu, Hindu temple-Pasupati Nath, etc, Historical places-Basantapur, Bhaktapur etc) And trust me all the people went their always comes back, so why dont you give it a try. And about the political situation, its all peacefull. You should ask people who went their, and I gaurentee you that they would say "yes, give it a try,you willl love it ".If you are coming, do visit my websites http://www.himalayaexcursion.com and http://www.a1excursion.com

It is safe to go. in the past, the Maoist rebels were creating trouble in the country but the rebels had never harmed any foreigners before, the most serious thing they had done to a foreign tourist was a little extortion. During that time , as a tourist safety wasn't much of an issue but probably your movement would be a little restricted as some roads were blocked and they were many police checkpoints, for a short period, there was even a curfew. The situation in the country now has improved a lot eventhough the problems with the rebels had not been fully alleviated.

i would just read up everything in the news about Nepal and then weigh it all up.

Travelling always carries a risk.

Nepal is an amazing place - love it!
