Nepal is definitely the better place with 100s of locations to choose from and all are equally adventurous. Nepalese people are more friendly and helpful than Indians as Nepalese believe in "Atithi Devo Bhawa" meaning Guests are Gods.

In my opinion, Nepal is better for backpacking, either female or male. Nepali people are very open and friendly towards tourists. Backpacking is one of the most popular things to do in Nepal, and you'll find many others doing the same. Nepal's natural beauty is not surpassed by any other country. Nepal may not be politically stable right now, however, tourists never had any problem in Nepal. And besides/while backpacking, you can also do many awesome things such as white water rafting, gliding, trekking, mountain climbing, shopping for artworks, etc. Hope this helps. Thanks. |

I've never been to Nepal and I have been to India although not for backpacking. It's an interesting place, but the people there help you vigorously without you asking and then literally demand money from you. You'll experience this in any country but in India they bring it to a whole new level, a man blocked my path and refused to move until I assured him I had no cash at hand! I'd recommend Nepal as it is slightly less popular to backpack and backpacking is better with less people (as long as you're not alone) |

It is up to you where do you prefer to be? In Nepal there are a lot of mountains that you can conquer. It would be more cheaper than India maybe! Moreover, be safe as you are female and choose a right partner for backpacking!!!
