No, you do not need 'Visa'. Only, passport, in whatever mode you go. By Air - you have direct flights from Kolkatta & Delhi and also probably, from Patna. By road you can go via Gorakhpur (U.P.) or Raxaul (Bihar).

u need identity proof documents like a passport or ration card or any valid document .if u go by road, go to calcutta &travel by bus.if u go by air, then go to calcutta airport or delhi airport &take the flight to nepal

no need of visa for going to nepal.
air route for nepal is from delhi, calcutta, patna
a few road routes are from:Naxalbari,Rexaul, jogbani, jainagar,
Nepalganj-road,Nautanwa

no visa required, but if u travel by air have your passport with u. If travelling by road, wny photo identity card will do, like election card, pan card etc.
re how to go by road, some other reader has already answered that part so i will not repeat it.
have a good time in Nepal and do visit Pokhara apart from Kathmandu.
