I know the cost is a fortune. Like in the area of $50,000. just to the governments there for fees, last I heard. Here's just one company (I think they're one that lost at least one climber in that horrific year where a leader of theirs died).:

You can go trekking in the area of it, even to the first Base Camp, for alot less. Here's just one company (not familiar with). Search "himalaya trekking" and there's alot of info. Also check ads in magazines like "Outside" + "Backpacker".
