Sonouli and Bhairahawa both have got plenty of hotels near to bus stand, but I always prefer Sonouli because of economy. As soon as you enter the Nepalese border, on the right side, just opposite to Bhansar office, you can spot lot many hotels, if you want to stay for night.

The buses for Kathmandu start from Sonouli as soon as 4am, and upto late evening around 6 or 6:30pm. Don't worry, you won't have any problem.
