All the hotels at Sonauli are budget hotels they would cost around IRs 300-500 per night. If you want better ones, go to Bhairawaha, about 5 kms from Sonauli. There, the costs range from 300-1000. If the rooms are not packed, you may get a good bargain to lower the price.
You can change Indian money to Nepali currency in Sonauli but official counter close after 5:00. However, you may find local currency exchanger or you may use Indian currency directly in hotel if it is not of big amount. Usually, it will be accepted. You can change more money next day. The conversion rate: 1 IRs equal to 1.6 Nepalese Rupees |
