Nepal is safe for everyone now...it had been several voilence, curfews and wars. But now both rebels and government are together and they are making a new nepal. At this moment nepal's situation is good. I am a nepali and i know the condition over here.. i live near pashupatinath and i can see lots of people coming to pashupatinath from india, as well out side of kathmandu valley is also safe and sound.. if you are from india u must come here in june cuase i'ts pretty cool here in kathmandu or other side of nepal. No... problems for the toursits !! they are always welcome

Nepal has always been safe for tourists, but yes, there have been inconviniences in past due to insurgency and curfews. But it's all over now (hopefully) with the establishment of Nepal (no more a kingdom!).

You can visit Nepal any time of the year, but the best would be during Aug/Sept. June... a bit hot, but definitely lot cooler than India.

Welcome to Nepal!

Jesus, from what I hear, Nepal is a warzone. If it's not the Maoist rebels, it's the locals taking part in violence. It sounds bad, I wouldn't go, Indian tourist or any other race/nationality.

I suppose absolutly yes, not only for Indian but tourists from around the world. I have my reservations from July 1st - July 10th and my tour operator Everest Express Tours & Travels (P) Ltd and airline i.e. Pakistan International Airlines has assured that Nepal is a safe country once again after the restoration of the democracy and the three months peace call from Maoist rebels. Kathmandu, Pokhra and Chitwan (though some tourist should consider chitwan twice as it is full of jungle activities and June and July are the monsoon seasons, so it might affect the Chitwan program and avoid taking Air Safari's or domestic Flights within Nepal during Monsoon prefer car travelling. I suppose this information may sound useful, if you do require any information please do not hesitate to as further at usman.aman@gmail.com

I don't think Nepal is safe for anyone really.

Although there is conflict at the moment, It is actualy safe for tourists. I was there last year when the same Curfews were inposed & there was also a few bombs that had gone off outside the embassy but Tourists are not targeted by the Mouists & you would be unfortunate if you got caught up in their fight. Kathmandu was safe & I felt no danger. I climbed Everest base camp on a 3 week expedition & stayed in Kathmandu for 1 week with no hassles or threats.I haveregular contact with guides who work in Nepal & they say its still safe for Tourists. My only concern is that you are Indian & Nepal has a high Indian community you may not be recognised as a Tourist & therefore will probably share the same risk as the locals.I suggest you conatct the embasy first.
