Is there a route from Lhasa to Kathmandu?

how can one go overland (not flight) from Lhasa to Kathmandu? Rail? Car?

Travel to and from Lhasa/Kathmandu have been reopened from early April. As the pervious poster said, you need to arrange a trip through a travel agency. The means of transport is 4 WD. Buses do not run at the moment.

there are no rail-roads in Nepal (the geographical structure is quite un-even for a rail-road)
and for lhasa you can rent a tour bus/micro-bus and then get there...I think that's the only way ^_^

No rail road..The only way to get there is to arrange via a travel agency. Individual trips are not allowed by the Chinese, either..
Anyway, Lhasa was-again- closed to touristic visits until april. You'd better check if they have reopened it..
