Nowhere Man

Nepal? India?

Why do so many people confuse Nepal as being a part of India? Nepal has never been a part of any other country as far as I know. They weren't even controlled by Grt. Britain while INdia was. The cultures are somewhat similar, so what? Here're the facts: Buddha was born in NEpal, Mt. EVerest is in Nepal not in India. ANd I"m apalled to see some Indians saying NEpal should just be a part of India. That's never gonna happen. I have many Nepalese friends and they love the fact that thier country was never occupied by any other nations.

Nepal is a great country. During our social science class in grade school, I was appalled by the magnificience of that place.
Nepal to me is synonymous to Mt. Everest. The sherpas who climbed that highest mountain are Nepalese and not Indians. And they look more like us, Filipinos than the turbaned Indians.

Yes you are right ...i too find so many people who think Nepal is a part of India..which is completely false and let me restate something that really bothers me Budha was born in NEPAL and not in INDIA.

Because there are some ignorant people who doesn't know what is Mt. Everest or where is it on earth. And there are some arrogant yet very stupid and confuged people who think Nepal should be a part of India. What they don't know is Nepal was much bigger before and part of India (Killa-Kangara, Tista, etc.) was actually the land of Nepal.

It is a person's attitude to humiliate the people. I am proudly a Nepalese and it is independent since Nepal had it's beautiful name and No one dared to invaded Nepal in the history, But it used to be consist of many Kings 22-24 Kings in ancient time. It is a free country but nowadays unfortunately we are having bad political conflict.

They should improve their geography and history.

To be completely honest, I have never, ever, ever met anyone who has confused the two(outside India). Nepal is one of the countries I am always surprised people know so much about, whether they have been lucky enough to visit there or not.

These are the same folks who would confuse Turkey and Greece, or Taiwan and Thailand but not Nepal and India.

The truth is the nations and the peoples could not be more different. Their attitudes and identities are totally seperate. Long may it remain so.

Namaste....Dai haru...Didi haru

Yeah I know Nepal is not part of India but the reason many people confuse the two as one is because they are right next to each other. People don't know international geography as much as their own countries geography. Especially here in the U.S. everybody only knows mainly U.S.

I love Nepalese people and I love Nepal
