If you climb, there's always Mount Everest. If you don't, you're not missing much either because you can travel to the other beautiful parts of Nepal, e.g. Pohkara where you can see the beautiful Everest reflected on the lake, visit the Chitwan National Park, shop at Thamel for nice pashmina shawl, see Kumari at Hanuman Dhoka Palace, etc. If you eat at the local stores, you can get to eat interesting local food, e.g. momo, at very cheap prices. Nepal is a country of rich culture and diversity that you have to be there to experience it yourself. I am sorry to hear that your friends had a bad experience but my experience there was wonderful, even though I did not climb Mount Everest. People there are friendly and warm hearted; food and things to buy are very cheap, even the accommodation is very affordable. |
