Nepal has beautiful mountains for which it is well known, but beyond that a beautiful and gracious people that I have come to love. It is hot in the summer, cold in the winter, chaotic in the capital all the time, dangerous and muddy in the rainy season. Food is rice and vegetables. Sounds are cars constantly honking. Sights are beauty and poverty in almost any direction. It is a difficult life for most and tragic is you are a widow or an orphan.

I love the country. I do not do the tourist route. I work with children's homes-- but Nepal has my heart. If I could live there, I would.
