It's mainly from September end to early December. However, if you are interested more in adventure than just seeing around, then I say, you can pack your bags and board a plane right now!
If you want to dodge summer, you can find the hilly and mountainous areas relaxing, while in winter there is the Terai belt with lots of national parks and warm weather, and plenty of sun! It doesn't actually matter what time of the year you travel the country, but primarily, since you'll be entering the country through Kathmandu (the only international airport), I suggest you travel there from late September to early December and late January to early May. Actually, they even have posters saying, NEPAL...FOR ALL SEASONS

Check the bus time table. Mostly you have to walk as there are not many roads in Nepal. Nicest times are spring through autumn. It is a lovely country.
