Hey there
We did a trekkign in Nepal in 2006. We did a Everest Base Camp trek with guide. We had a really nice guide, excellent English, good knowledge of local culture, history, always willing ...
Would like to combine some trekking with visiting Kathmandu and seeing the real Nepal...unfortunately would only have maximum of 2 weeks to do this, I think....
i am 13 and i always to climb mt. everest i heard that it is so silent there it is like there is no one except yourself. I have always was a fan of peace and quite any ways
I'm interested in "no no's" and things that we SHOULD know about as far as etiquette, customs, etc. for a family visit to the Himalayan region and northern India. All input ...
I checked some days and flights from New York and the prices are ridiculous !
Try Yahoo travel or Expedia.com
Nepal has an airline: Royal Nepal Airlines, they fly to certain cities outside, try to book over 2 airlines (from US city to one which they serve). I used them once and they are safe (on international flights, inside Nepal: depends on th weather)
From Europe are flights from several airlines e.g. Lufthansa from Frankfurt and Condor from Munich. I would use Frankfurt, it is the second largest hub in Europe.
You may contact the german alpines club (Deutscher Alpenverein = Summit Club), they may have charter capacity (Nepal is very famous with german climbers !) You may consider a trip with them, they all speak english.
(You may contact me by email if you need more informations)
(I spend 3 month in Nepal for hiking and climbing)
Thanks for the Yahoo Jacket
