he was definitely born in Nepal.....he was born 2500 years ago....he was prince of Kapilvastu (Sakya Dynasty)... his real name was Siddhartha Gautama.....

King Ashok, the famous Indian emperor was very devoted in Buddhism...he erected a pillar exactly where Gautama Buddha was born....that pillar is still standing in Kapilvastu, Lumbini region of Nepal
