This site http://www.kropla.com/electric.htm seems to contain reliable information for the countries I have travelled to.

Nepal has 230V/50Hz electricity. Nepal uses 2 round pin and 3 round pin plugs.

They use both 2 and 3 pin plugs. A European adapter will fit the 2 pin socket but it won't be earthed. The 3 pin plugs are the same as the old UK 5 amp plugs and are the type used in India. These are still available from specialist electrical shops in the UK. You can buy adapters to suit either type of socket from http://www.deltacom.co.uk
