Temperature of Nepal is not very hot or cold... it is varied.
Nepal can be divided into three parts, east to west, geographically. Southern part is bordered to India. It is terain region and indeed very hot. Example of Terain cities are, Mahendra nagar, Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Butwal, Birgunj, Kalaiya, Janakpur, Biratnagar etc.
Middle part is hilly region where temperature is moderate. Eg., Kathmandu, Hetauda, Surkhet, Dang, Ilam, etc.
Upper most part or the Northern part is Himalaya region which is very cold. Everest, having its base camp at Namche Bazar (again a himalayan region) lies in this region. This part is more than 4000 mts. in altitude and is very cold. Not only on top of Mounth Everest (Sagarmatha in Nepali) but there are snows after you reach Himalayan region.

Because it is very high

STL Biker
Because the higher you go up in altitude the colder it becomes.

The temperature of Nepal is not so hot.It is very cold herein winter. As you know,Mount Everest is the highest peak of the world which is located in the height of 8848 meter, the mountain is always covered by snow. The higher the place from the sea level, the lower the temperature it will be.

The height of top of mount everest is 8,848m which concludes it to be the one the highest peak of world. As you know the temperature varies according to the height from the sealevel. So, it's really cold up there and have the snow always as snow melts below 0 degree celcius only. That's the reason it's always snowy there.

The temperature in Nepal is very hot in the summer time, but winters are quite cold, even in the valleys-- and most homes and buildings do not have any form of heat. As you move up in elevation, it is as cold as anyone would ever care to be.
