Why the height of mount Everest increasing?

Bluebird
I think it is not increasing, Infact due to Ice Melt and rare rainfalls causing Himalayas to decreasing it's pick levels. Actual Height was arround 8,890 Meter. But Official records kept as 8,848 Meter above the sea level.

The himalaya mountains are caused by the Indian subplate colliding with the Asian tectonic plate. This is a fairly recent collision. India is hitting asia from the south. It's still moving, and pushing up all the mountains in the Himalayas, including Everest. Also K2.

It's to do with plate tectonics. Convection currents in the mantle moves the Indo-australian Plate (continental) together with the Eurasian plate (continental) so the crust buckle up to form Himalayan mountains As long as the 2 plates are still pushing together, the height of them would just get higher and higher which would explain why the height of mount Everest increasing.

No, its not the ocean level, the tectonic plates are constantly moving up against one another.

MOUNT Everest is about 12ft lower than previously thought, according to the results of a Chinese survey of the world's highest peak. It revealed the summit is now only 29,017.16ft above sea level - 12.14ft below a 1975 Chinese survey and 21.65ft lower than a 1999 American study.
