A question for New Zealanders...?

Good morning Kiwis greetings from the UK. I'm watching NZ on tv. Does the average New Zealander see much of that vast country, travel wise?

Most kiwis love to travel. I remenber working with this guy from liverpool in london. He was in his 50's and apart from liverpool, london and the road between he had never been anywhere else. Cant quite understand what made him tick. Each to there own.

It really isn't that vast, you can travel from the east to west coast in under 2 hours in some cases. Small population of around 4 million people - most people I know have seen a fair bit of the island they live on, few venture to neighbouring South/North Island. Probably due to cost and lack of interest in exploring.

LOL Of course... We love our road trips....

I have been to quite a number of places within NZ. For instance: on the Tranzalpine to Greymouth and back. Up to Picton and back; both trips were in 1 day lots. Over to Milford Sound with a NAtural History Group in 1983. Deep Cove ( at the head of Doubtful Sound ) on a School trip in 1972. And so on.

Still lots of places I have not yet been to. Nevertheless, I shall yet get to see these places. So why not yourself ?

Yes, usually, i have traveled around many parts of the north island. People usually do because it's so easy ad quick to go from one place to another. And very convenient.

I see quite a bit but that might be because I moved here from Scotland and being new to the country you want to see where you live.
