About SIM Cards in Auckland?

Hi kiwis! I'm arriving in Auckland in few days, and I'd like to buy a sim card.. Can I buy it at the airport? or where people sell it? (kind of shop)How much is it? Some friends told me that the best one is Vodafone, is that true?

Take these steps and you will be ok.
-when you arrive in Auckland after going through the customs area, turn left and walk towards the furthest left part of the building where the mcdonalds is, if you go go to the left of the mcdonalds there is an information store for hotel bookings, car rental bookings and other inquiries like yours and it is all free. They will be able to tell you or put you onto almost anything visitor related. I have just returned from there and the cheapest provider is vodafone and a SIM starter pack is $35 with $5 worth of call credit. The other providers are Telstra-Clear and Telecom.

Your other option is to leave your SIM card in your phone and it should go on automatic roam with the company affiliated with your normal carrier in your country, you dont have to do anything in this case. Be aware though that the calls are very expensive being on roam.

Hope this helped and I hope you have an absolutely fantastic time in our wonderful country :)

in any vodafone store :D

Disturbed
Any Vodafone shop.

You can only buy SIM cards from Vodafone stores and they only work on Vodafone phones. The cost roughly $25 and usually come loaded with $10 credit.

The airport should have a vodafone store, however if they don't, most shopping malls in Auckland do.

Any Vodaphone shop will sell them. The only other networks are Telstra Clear which is new so I'm not even sure they have SIM cards, and Telecom which I konw doesn't use SIM cards
