Anyone else hate going into JB Hi Fi in Queen St, Auckland re the paranoia about shoplifting from store staff?

Bizarre as their other branches are fine & in Australia they're fine. But in Queen St they do that thing where staff keep coming up to ask if you need help but it's kind of with an attitude like "just letting you know I'm here watching in case you were thinking of stealing something". And no I'm not suspicious or anything. Then the security guard always asks to see your till receipt & has a pointless conversation with you as you're leaving the store (I guess it's to see if you behave nervously or something).

I've never been back since my last bad experience as I spent over $200, was asked about 10 times, can I help you by 2 different staff with them becoming a bit more hostile each time (evidently they don't like it when you browse) & the security guard was the worst, he was a real a**hole & if I hadn't have been so tired I would have asked to see the manager & gotten a refund as I kept thinking why should I pay the wages of staff when I'm treated like this? Particularly the security guard who went over my receipt (why? it's not like they're matching it to what's in your bag of purchases) for ages & make a derogatory comment & had the attitude that I should feel lucky to be able to enter their store.

I wrote a letter of complaint to head office & got no reply.

Just wondering who else has had bad experiences as we were talking about it at work today & none of us will ever go back there again & we all buy loads of dvd's too as we're not big tv watchers. Their loss.

YES.... I used to to work in teh City and would go there on lunch breaks, flippin hated walking out, felt like a criminal for nothing! I did get my bag checked twice for no apparent reason? I dont look dodgy, late 20s & business attire.. who knows.. The manukau one isnt much better.

Move to Wellington - they're only mildly paranoid in our version of JB's.
I've never been stopped (yet), the guy at the door seemed more concerend that there were'nt any catalogs near the door, but I think because it's new they're trying to get more people interested in another Ozzie chain in NZ.

The major off-putting about Wgtn's JB's is that it stinks of humans!
The air-con just doesn't work and by the time you're 1/2 way through the store, the smell of people makes you wanna get out quick!
