Are you afraid of the next earthquake in Wellington?

Do you notice many earthquakes in Wellington, especially if you're living there? Do you feel scared? Because from what I know, the entire downtown is built on land created pushed upwards from the last big one in 1800's.

I think Wellington is the greatest city in the world of its size, but the wind and especially the earthquakes really put me off.

Not much point in being scared.
Why live in constant fear?
Why not live life and enjoy it while you can.

Check this site.

Well we're all going to die someday. So why not do it in the city you love?

It's going to happen one day. Scared? No. You could get killed when you drive your car.

As someone who comes from an area that's basically New Zealand's earthquake hot spot, I'm not afraid at all. Eventually there will be a big earthquake that will do major damage, but I don't think of it as something to be afraid of. I think that the majority of earthquakes in Wellington would hardly be felt and the bigger ones are few and far between. I'd say you're more likely to die in a storm there than an earthquake.

The wind is just something you'll get used to, and basically anywhere you live in NZ has a chance of feeling an earthquake at some stage (even if it's an extremely minor tremor).
