At what age can you get a full, unrestricted license in New Zealand? |
I know that the country of NZ has a graduated driver's license program, and that you can get your first learner permit at age 15. I am having trouble finding a website that will tell me at what age you can get a fully unrestricted driver's license. Please cite your sources. Thank you for any help. |

Well, say you got your learners at age 15. Then in 6months you are eligible to sit the test for your restricted licence. [15years, 6months] Say you pass that, then in 18months you can sit your full licence, UNLESS you do a defensive driving course in which case you only have to wait 12months after getting your restricted licence.
So I guess the earliest you could get a full licence doing a defensive driving course would be 16 and a half years old or 17 if you don't do the defensive driving course! |

Yes the previous answer is correct.
You can get a learner license on your 15th birthday.
After 6 months you can get a restricted license.
If you do an approved course you can get a full license after 12 months otherwise it is 18 months with a clean record.
So the earliest is 16.5 years old (which is one of the youngest in the western world).
