If you go to this website - http://map.bluecastle.co.nz/Rotorua-map.htm you can enlargen the map and move it around and you will see the suburbs of Rotorua.
The Rich are scattered - some at Kawaha Point because it is by the water, some close to the centre of Rotorua (South) because they are on thermal heating, some in Linmore which is east of Rotorua. There are also some areas that are bad - you'll know them when you see them.
Rotorua is a fascinating place. I lived there for 4 years. There are so many activities, tourist attractions, you would never be bored. Hope you are going before April or towards the end of the year because it is very cold there in winter. |

I was going to suggest you Google it on www.googleearth.com , but then realised that the names of the suburbs don't come up unless you ask for them by name.
So I thought why not check it out in the phone book. It lists all the suburbs in the front of it. But then the online version of the phone book doesn't do this.
So, go to the map like someone has suggested. Or--
Here's most of them working anticlockwise from the northeast.
Okere Falls, Mourea, Okawa Bay, Ludgate Hill, Tikitere, Hannahs Bay, Holdens Bay, Owhata, Lynmore, Ngapuna, Whakarewarewa, Waipa, (although there are no houses there at present), Tihi-o-tonga (the posh suburb) , Otonga, Westbrook, Fordlands (the least posh suburb), Glenholm, Central, Ohinemutu, Koutu, Kawaha Point (a little bit posh), Western Heights, Ngongotaha, Waitete, Awahou, Mamaku and Mokoia Island - (but no-one lives there either).
Hope this helps.
(Amended 24 hrs after first posting)
Whoops, I left out Springfield (between Otonga and Westbrook {and a bit of an upper class area})
My apologies to the people of Fenton Park for leaving you out in my original post. Am I forgiven? |
