CHEAP AIRFARE..NEWZEALAND(AUCKL... TO JAPAN? |
Im planning on going to japan around May for 2-3weeks and I've looked up on the internet for the airfares and they were all between $1700-2200 new zealand dollars.I heard that May-June was suppose to be the cheapest months to buy ticket as it is the rain season in japan,and I also thought that airfares went down a lot since 1months ago due to less oil charges...My friends has purchased her ticket this month for only $1100 all included.(she has already left)
My partner said,maybe it is still too early to be looking at the cost now as prices always changes.
What do you think would be the best thing to do for me?
Should I wait untill May before purchasing the ticket?
And also,if you know a cheap way to fly to japan,please let me know!!

It is a gamble either way - fares can go go up or down. Often (certainly for domestic flights) the cheapest way to buy seats is well in advance, but specials do come up from time-to-time.
Air New Zealand auctions international fares with $1 reserves on sella.co.nz on weekly 24 hour sales (Thursdays, I think). Don't get too excited about the reserve though, they do go up a LOT from there and there's no guarantee that there'll be any to Japan when you want to go - but it's worth a try :) |

It is very difficult to know what will happen with airfares. A couple of years ago we went to Japan on a fare that came up -half price for the month of May. But they didn't repeat that last year and it was very short notice - 10 days.
Have a look at cheap flights at http://www.fascinating-travel-destinations.com/cheap-airfares.html and see what comes up. Personally I would be very wary of Jetstar.They charge outrageous prices for everything including water - $6 US for a dry sandwich, $4US for an average size bottle of water etc and can also at the last minute change how you fly and you end up spending many hours more in the air than you need to.We lost a day each way going to Vietnam, and having to overnight in Ho Chi Minh. You are better to pay a bit more and go with an airline that gets you there comfortably and on time!I l also think by the time you add up all the extra costs it is not as different to a higher fare that includes everything as you think.
You just need to keep checking fares, but eventually will need to make a decision to purchase.Air NZ has blackboard fares, which change daily. |

You are going in their summer which will be a high fare time.
I think jetstar go to Osaka ( jetstar.co.nz?)...and have some cheap airfares ( but its a budget airline).. but you might have to go from chch
try www.expedia.co.nz for main airlines as i ahve always found it decent. |
