can i carry portable hard disk of 160 GB having movie,songs and photos on my Cathay pacific flight from Delhi to Auckland via Hong Kong. Is carrying a hard disk okay as per new zealand immigration rules. Do i have to declare it to the customs in auckland. |

As long as it is for personal use, yes you can.
I got stopped and randomly checked on my flight back from Asia last year. I had brought HEAPS of movies over there.
The customs people asked me if it was for personal use and I said it was and they barely batted an eyelid. Just kept searching my bag and then off I went! |

As long as it's not wrapped in food, made of wood, contains plant materials, contains lots of $$$ on hard cash, is for personal use (plus any other things Immigration or MAF don't like) & no objectional material you should be OK. |

no probs. I brought my 1TB external hard drive from Asia and it was all good, nothing to declare, unless it is very expensive, which i doubt. Dont know about the whether the warranty will be still covered when you're in nz tho... |
