Definitely Westlake.
II have 2 cousins that currently attend Westlake Boys.
Westlake is not only known for academic achievements but also in sports, music and cultral wise.
It is one of the leading school in NZ. And also there are a lot of people that have represented NZ on the international scale and some of them are from Westlake.
e.g. Tom Ashely - 2008 Beijing Olympic Gold Medalists.
Check out their website www.westlake.school.nz

I don't live in the right area to be familiar with the schools, so I'm not going to try and rate the schools. But, to compare schools, there are two things that I would look at - the Education Review Office (ERO) reports, and how well they have done academically (which you can do on the New Zealand Qualfications Authority website).

Contrary to Zebra's answer, decile numbers do not tell you about the exam success of the school. The Ministry of Education explains it this way:

"A school's Decile indicates the extent to which it draws its students from low socio-economic communities. Decile 1 schools are the 10% of schools with the highest proportion of students from low socio-economic communities. Decile 10 schools are the 10% of schools with the lowest proportion of these students."

my friend goes to westlake boys and i heard its pretty good :D

!!Red!!
Kelston Boys are finally getting a good rep for once. However I still wouldn't recommend that school. i don't like any of the schools that you have listed they do not have good curriculum...

If you really want to know what school would be best for you have a look @ Mt Albert Grammar and Auckland Boys.

Westlake for sure!

Definately Westlake. Had a friend who was a teacher there & have had friends with kids there, they turn out really good, good education & strong on respecting others & manners, etc. One of my friends sons has graduated from Westlake & studying medicine now.

Also look up each school in a search on this site:

www.tki.org.nz/e/schools

At the bottom it will say School Decile, the higher the decile the better the school. It means exam pass success rate for the school basically. Anything below a 3 is pretty much a school in the ghetto! Westlake has a 9, I think it only goes up to 10 so 9 is excellent.
