Christchurch?

What is it live? I have only drvien through it once. I hear its beutiful, but i also hear it is very un safe. How does it compare to Sydney in terms of crime and traffic?

I am considering leaving nelson for work there, but I don't want to move to there if it is like sydney. I left the westurn suburbs of sydney for nelson and have not looked back.

What are the rich and the not so good suburbs of christchurch.

Stay in Nelson - I lived there for years. Awesome place.
Depends what you do for a job....? Christchurch - I lived there for a year in 1991, area called Bishopdale, OK 'average' suburb. But what got me is it snowed ! Right in town and surrounding areas. I even made a snowman in my backyard LOL.
Christchurch is defiantly safer than Sydney. But I really loved Nelson.
I thought you were heading up Hamilton way?

Well, I lived in Chch. for several years, and it's safe. The roughest parts aren't as bad as some parts of Sydney like Redfern and La Perouse. We lived in St. Albans, which is cheap, and it was OK. The most expensive places are Cashmere, Fendalton, Ilam and Bryndwr. The cheapest are Aranui, Sydenham, Sockburn and Hornby. Chch. is a quiet, conservative sort of city.

Sorry I don't like CHCH much. I have cousins who live in Cashmere. That's a nice area by the way.

Trust me, STAY IN NELSON!! Chch is smoggy! Nelson is so nice and sunny.

I'd much prefer Sydney (Penrith represent!!).

Smallish and spread out- nothing like Sydney. This is more laidback and easy going. Zee_prime aptly describes the situation and the prime areas to live in.
