Did anyone watch the Wellington Earthquake programme tonight?!?

It's too much hassle for me to watch tv, but my Mum taped it for me. She said it was really really scary. If you didn't watch it, it was about what would happen if an 8.something earthquake hit the Wellington area (it was in Cook Straight). Basically Wellington was destroyed. It's going to be on the TV3 website from Thursday night. The second episode is on tomorrow night. Apparently it was pretty realistic with real news updates and etc

If you watched it were you freaked out by it?
Additional Details
Yeh but that's typical New Zealand acting for you. Some of my friends were actually in the show (playing rugby by the cable car). We're over 150 years overdue for the 'big one' and there's a lot more scientific evidence that it will hit us than Jesus returning.

Kia ora ??Wabby??
Thursday night, now seen both nights.
The general impression was that most NZers are way too unprepared, not only in the physical aspects (food, water, access, transport, roads etc) but also in the emotional aspects. You WILL be on your own, you will have to look after number one first, other people will have to wait 'til your needs are met, and by nobody else except by you.
Don't wait for the Americans or any other help. Do it on your own, now. Wake up to the fact that everybody else is in the same boat. To survive more than just a day or two when the big one comes is going to need forward planning, and you must do this NOW.
A built up area like Wellington will be completely cut off as far as access goes. The only bulldozer big enough to clear the Ngauranga Gorge quickly is kept at Hastings. The only way to get it to Wellington, unless it makes its own road as it goes, will be by boat.
Tonight's programme (Thurs) was a semi-dramatisation, and again showed that the people had not thought it all out. --No dry firewood, no matches, no tin opener, walking 15 minutes each way in the rain to fetch dubious water - what's wrong with rainwater for cryin' out loud, offering their meager space and food to neighbours - in a life and death situation you don't die so that the neighbours can survive, they have to look after themselves.
Only when Civil Defence has some infrastructure established in the area, can anyone seek assistance. And the CD people are all volunteers with families, uncertainties, injuries and their own problems.
I suggest contacting your local CD and going on their training courses so that you will be more prepared than most others.
I hope this is not too long and doesn't appear as preaching.
I was once a volunteer in the CD and perhaps have a bit more knowledge than most as to what the possible scenarios are. Always prepare for the worst.
I think that I am fully prepared, but there are bound to be some deficiencies somewhere in my planning.
Look after yourself so that you may look after others, Wabby.

Some of the acting was average. It seemed a little disjointed -although i was on answers and multi tasking and feeding the cat et cetera

Freaked out? Not really, if it happens it happens, its been overdue for 30-40 years or something. So has nuclear war and the comming of Jesus - well thats been centuries but whos counting?

I live on a hill outside greater Welly and whenever im in Welly CBD i think about it - the earthquake risk, i once worked in one of those glass towers on The Terrace, it freaked me out.

Speaking of earthquakes... we had one in Dubai 2 weeks ago. My bed, tv, computer... everything was shaking. But it was a cheap earthquake, I'm sure it couldn't have cracked a sand castle!

It was funny though the way a few of my friends were screaming "I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!" haha

Sorry I got carried away, no I didn't watch the program :P
