Do newzealanders(kiwis) like latinamericans? what do they think about them? are they xenophobic? |
because im half dominican (people from Dominican Republic, a caribbean country) and half spanish(from Spain) and im thinking about going there to study and maybe work to have enough money while i live there, and i couldnt live in a country where people think in a negative way about me just because im from an other country especially from a latinamerican country as Dominican Republic is... that they might not know at all...... by the way im 20 yrs old and spanish like..... and other thing, would people be friendly with me there? is it 2 boring there?...(please i only want answers from newzealanders).. Additional Details i live in Madrid (SPAIN) and i wanna live in Auckland, i know it is not as big as Madrid, and i dont really need it to be as big as Madrid, i just need to know if it will be hard to find nice well educated and decent friends to hang out, bcuz i think thats about all u really need to have fun... and as u can see i already know how to speak english (USA accent) even though my first language is spanish.. so i am "approachable" |

Relax, dude. New Zealander's are very cool about people from other countries. Whether or not you'll find it boring in New Zealand depends on you. If you like the outdoor lifestyle, beaches, bbq's - then you'll like NZ. If it's the full on bright lights and big city experience you're after, then you may prefer Australia. |

The girls will probably be lining up to see you dude! haha! Personally i have no problems with latin americans, i say come on over and have a great time. New Zealand is a country of many differant races and we all get along. |

NZ has many different people, infact there are still some racists but not too many, so come over here and enjoy the land of white clouds |

Mate-bro come on over we dont bite well most of us dont, yep checkout Auckand its NZ biggest city if you like that sort of thing as for boring I dont think so but that comes down to you an what you want to do while here. With an American accent you might get a bro are you American or a OOH a latinamerican from the ladies not to much else most people are easy going. |

New Zealand doesn't have the same issues with racism as many other countries. Not to say it doesn't exist at all, because it does - just not to the same level. Part of that is owed to the sheer multicultural aspect of the country. New Zealand has no issues with Latin America either.
As for boredom, it really depends what kind of things you enjoy doing and what part of the country you live in. The bigger cities obviously have a far more active social scene, but if you're studying and attending university, then you'll have no problems finding and making friends. I think you'd probably have more trouble adjusting to the extremely changeable weather than you will have with the locals.
Perhaps you should try a shorter stay first to see if you like it though?
Good luck! |
