Kotahi tatou. We are one nation. There is no need to segregate criminals, we should lock them up and deprive them of all privileges until they are rehabilitated. As it is they get too many privileges. I know people who have committed crimes deliberately to be sent back to jail because its easier than living on the outside. This is in NZ.
The focus should be on integration, rehabilation and social functioning, not racial segregation. |

Yeah, and while we're about it, how about separate prisons for Jews, Americans, Australians, blondes, blokes who show bum cracks, people who work at MacDonalds, Council Building Inspectors, smokers, parents who smack kids, parents who don't smack kids, kids,.........and where will it all end?
It's just a stupid idea by people who are on this issue, superbly demonstrating their stupidity. |

I can't believe that Pita Shapels is actually standing behind this idea. It's stupid and it makes us look like we now need special treatment in the freaking justice system. I hate that 15% of Maori are in and out of jail on a yearly basis but to seperate us everybody else in just nonsense. They got themselves into jail they should suffer like every other in-mate... |

Hm, if that's NZ's interpretation of multiculturalism, I say we're in for about 50 different prison types and who knows what else.
If that's where it goes in all consequence, make it so.

No, this idea came from those who have been sucking the system for all they can get, next they would privatise their prison and suck more bucks out of the public purse to fund their own cause, the inmates would gain nothing of value and the i suspect crime rates would increase not the reverse. |
