Does anybody know how the school year runs in New Zealand?

In New Zealand the school year has four terms
The academic year starts with term one at the end of January or start of February and runs for about 10 weeks then they break for ''Easter holidays'' which is about two weeks long.
Term 2 runs for 10 weeks again with a two week break about July .
Term 3 runs for ten weeks again with a two week break about September
The term 4 is about 10 weeks long again but most high schools have study leave for NCEA students (students sitting their exams)
at the end of term 4 we have six weeks off over the Christmas Holidays and New years
Not all terms are ten weeks long they vary between 9 and 11.

wee, i'm in high school here in NZ and the school year runs around this plan:

each term runs around 10 weeks
TERM 1 (starts early feb)
2 weeks holiday
TERM 2 (starts in april )
2 weeks holiday
TERM 3 (starts in july)
2 weeks holiday
TERM 4 (starts october)

then xmas holidays from 20th December onwards for about 6 to 8 weeks.

if you are in years 11 to 13 then you take practice exams in september, and you take actual exams in november.

good luck!

I think the school years in New Zealand and Australia are like the school years in America. They have summer off when it's winter in America since those countries are in the southern hemisphere.
