Does "Annoyed" also mean "Hurt/Sad" to anyone?

Does anyone out there think the word "annoyed" COULD also refer to being "hurt/sad/etc"? (kind of like how "upset" can also mean "sad" to some people) ...

Does anyone out there think the word "annoyed" COULD also refer to being "hurt/sad/etc"? (kind of like how "upset" can also mean "sad" to some people)

Example: COULD the following sentence be referring to being hurt/sad, rather than the usual assumption of angry/irritated?

- "The person I have a huge crush on sent me a letter that had me slightly annoyed, so it was good I didn't reply right away, because the delay made my reply a lot more palatable." (palatable is a rough way to say "acceptable")

---

(So, I'm wondering here if the above COULD potentially mean that the person was emotionally stabbed, and would have spluttered in sorrow if replying too soon after the email. Not jumping to any conclusions, just seeing if it's possible in some people's definition of "annoyed". So, anyone see it as also meaning hurt/sad? Thanks.)

No. The rock band "Hurt/Sad" is playing at the local tavern this New Year's Eve, and I think they would be annoyed if you gave their name an alternative meaning.

no :/; not really in that context..

but i guess if its used in a different way, especially if used over and over again with a strange "bothered" facial expression.. then yes, i can see where it COULD mean hurt/sad..

Chetak.
If the letter did make you feel hurt then I wouldn't replace with annoyed, although in some cases you could use it that way.
