I came from overseas a year ago and expected to find one of those huge cities with more than a million inhabitants.
I've found a city full of life, full of cultures, with a lot of green, huge parks, concerts, sports, events, with great beaches, unspoilt nature out in the west.
After a year I am still discovering Auckland, still learning about the city and still am fascinated. I live in a place that is not far from CBD and already has a nice neigbourhood with a small town character.
It has plenty of nearly everything.
I love to be a JAFA |

Yes, I've visited there, but if you're planning your first visit to New Zealand, be sure to leave time to visit other areas of the country, too. Auckland is beautiful because of the huge island filled bay adjacent to it. The Motorways are crowded during rush hours. In the CBD, there's a free loop bus that will take you to many of the close-in tourist spots. If you have a self-drive car, that still might be a timesaver. If you're looking for in-city adventure, consider the Auckland Bridge Climb or Bunjy Jump. Sky City also has a Bunjy Jump. |

I was most impressed with the intensity of the greens in Auklund. Thanks to the rains, everything was so lush, and I felt like I was enveloped in the most beautiful countryside I could imagine. People were nice, too, but the local dialect of English required a lot more attention than good ould Aussie. |
