Hello. I am a Canadian citizen teaching in China and my fiance / girlfriend is a Chinese citizen. I want to take her to New Zealand but I am unsure how difficult it is to get a travel visa.
4 of us girls will be meeting and having a week-end in Wellington in September. Can anybody please give us some indication on where the best place to stay would be. We will want to see some sights but would idealy like to be within walking distance of shops, resturanats etc. Nothing too expensive please.
Central City Apartments. Right in the middle of the CBD. Usually around $100 a night, don't book when a Rugby test etc is on as they all double the price of rooms.

If you're okay with staying in a backpacker, I would suggest the YHA Backpacker or Wellywood backpacker. I've stayed at both of these repeatedly and they are cheap and you can probably afford a couple of rooms with ensuite (at Wellywood) for the price of staying in one hotel room. You can walk anywhere from either one, they're clean, and cheap.
