Going to auckland on july????
hi..im planning to go 4 holiday at auckland this coming july..how is the weather?things that interesting to do..and one more..how can i go to rainbows end theme park..coz i heard that train system is not that good..is it true?can i go there by train?tq all =)
It will be cold for Auckland and could be wet.Hard to tell these days, but we get quite a lot of rain in winter.
You should be able to get a bus to near to Rainbow's End. It will depend on where you are coming from , how easy it is to get there. It is in Manakau city and not near the centre of Auckland.
There are a lot of things for you to do. It depends on what your interests are.
Have a look here for some ideas: http://www.holidays-in-newzealand.com/auckland.html
There is the Maritime Museum which I love on the waterfront in the city, and Auckland War Memorial Museum - also really good. The glasshouses are nice just below the museum and you can walk from there to see the Cathedral and Parnell.
Kelly Tarlton's is an interesting aquarium with penguins and a South Pole display. You can hire roller blades for round the water front near Kelly Tarltons.
Snow Planet - an indoor skiing place is on the North Shore - EastCoast Rd
Auckland Zoo is fantastic. If you like animals it is really well done.
Catch the ferry to Devonport and walk up North head for great views an around the base.
Go to Rangitoto Island and walk to top or catch the little train.
Waiheke Island is nice. You could even just ride the buses and see the island.
Go up Sky Tower in the city. The Art Gallery is also in the city.
The website should give you plenty of ideas. If you need to ask a question use the contact page.
There are bus passes you can use.
Have a great holiday. There are plenty of both indoor and outdoor activities to suit the weather.
tricky
It's cold now, gets colder in July. There are busses that can get you to Rainbows end, the train doesn't go there. Check out www.maxx.co.nz for public transport information. Has good instructions, maps, prices etc.
Other things to do are: Kelly Taltons Underwater world, boat trips to various islands in the Hauraki gulf - Waiheke is good, indoor snow field at Silverdale (www.snowplanet.co.nz), Sky tower...

my father is from aucklan and i have visited there in July before. it will be cold usually no snowing but it will be kinda chilly. another thing yu have to think about is that most people there dont have central heating but i dont know about hotels. also most people dont have really good insolation (i dont know how to spell that) so you would want to bring layers. as for things to do i only know really good things for the summer months really. if you stay in auckland you can walk many places though, but i knot know much about the train system because we used family cars. hope that i have helped
