Great Ski resorts around Queenstown? |
We're thinking of taking a 2 week trip in July/Aug either to Bali of skiing in NZ.
Now we come from the Pilbara in WA (It's stinking hot anyway) So Bali is not much different than home. But hey it's cheap.
I'm opting for a Ski holiday as my husband and kids 6 and 2 have never seen snow. I haven't been skiing for 10 years and would like to give snow boarding a go. It will cost more but I think it would be more special.
I need to know some great ski places in NZ and maybe a great holiday day care for my little one for a few days. Also a ski school for my son (6 years).

Coronet Peak is what I was thinking of. Where would be nice to stay near there. also would I need a car? |

One idea for accommodation is to rent a holiday home while you're here - they start at about $120 per night (with a few advertising as little as $90).

Queenstown is a good choice, the scenery is amazing, has a beautiful lake, mountains and heaps of places to ski all nearby.
Some of the ski resorts to look at are Coronet Peak, and the Remarkables.
You should also check out a town called Wanaka. Have fun in NZ :) |

There are 3 main ski-fields easily accessible from QT.
Coronet Peak
The Remarkables
Cardrona.
There are others, such as Snow Farm that specialises in Cross Country skiing, and Treble Cone, accessed via Wanaka.
As well there is Heli Skiing where you more or less choose your own ski slope and get there by helicopter.
