Dont know where you from but take note it will be summer in Auckland at the time of your trip. Good place to visit.

i have been there 3 times and love that city. there is alot to do and it is very clean. if you go to the parnell section there is a beautiful park (dove meyer). if you like to shop there are a ton of stores. the temps in new zealand are great, the winters are pretty mild.
it is a wonderful country - you will love it there.

Christmas time is Summer. There will be sailing, water skiing etc on the harbour. Loads of barbeques. Unfortunately most of Auckland closes for Christmas Day but there is still loads to do especially outdoors. This being said there are more and more shops opening now. Auckland is very close to a lot of places and makes a good base for day trips to other parts of the North Island. Enjoy Auckland.

Elisabeth
yes i lived there for five years
and i go every year
actually i come from auckland :P

I'm from New Zealand, Auckland to be more specific. Auckland is amazing, BUT please do try to get out of Auckland and explore the other cities, as they show what NZ is really all about. The nightlife is quite alright, but if you're from a big city you'll find it really boring. So maz it out and go somewhere rural. Go to rotorua and do the luge/Gondola, zorbs. Go to Queenstown.. explore NZ not just auckland! :)

If you hav eno choice but to stay in Auckland ONLY, make sure you go to waiheke Island which is just 20 mins away by ferry, do the reverse bungy in Auckland, climb the sky tower, GO SHOPPING in the number one shoe warehouse (they have amazing shoes), and stay in the skycity grand hotel which is pricey but definitely worth it.. or may be just a bed and breakfast!

NZ IS AMAZING!

I am from Masterton a small town approx 100Km or 65 miles north of New Zealands capital city Wellington. I have visited Auckland approx 10 times in the last 20 odd years.

Certainly their is alot to do in Auckland, Rainbows End Theme Park, Kelly Tarltons Underwater World, Motat Transport Museum, many parks, sailing, swimming, beaches, almost every activity you can think of is on offer in Auckland. Simply visit an information centre or tourist place on arrival and let them fill you in... Most things are closed Christmas day but other than that, that time of year is warm, busy, and generall has many options to have fun!

It is very nice. Lots of places to escape to and do a good bit of exploring, similar to the middle of England, but with a mixture of the beauty of north Wales and the Scottish Highlands.

Yep. Born and bred here in the city of sails.
It is normally warmer over the xmas season - though I have to say it is prone to rainfall these days (gone are the golden halcyon days of childhood when we had warm summers and lots of sunshine).
If you come from somewhere cooler it will feel ODD to say the least, being on the beached etc over the festive season.
I cant pin it down to any particular sort of temperature ranges but it0 would typically be anywhere from 18 to 26 degrees (dredging back through memory banks.....)
