Has anyone been married in Cairns FNQ in November?

I am getting married in nov this year and cairns is going to be pretty hot. My sister lives there and she is one of the bridesmaides and she rang last night and asked if my dress was long and heavy, I said it's long but for a wedding dress it's not at all heavy. She said it is already so hot and steamy and to make sure the bridesmaid dresses are knee length so they get the air circulating. I'm scared now because I don't want to sweat my butt off during the ceremony and be really uncomfortable. Any Cairns people to answer would be really great too!

Yes your sister is right - it's very hot and humid Nov onwards.
We are experiencing in the 28's now, probably be around 35 in Nov, but it's more the humidity that kills ya LOL
If you you are on the beach getting married, it's great though, sea air and all.
Just keep your dresses light and summery, and if you are not used to the Cairns weather, come a few days before hand to get used to it.

Everywhere has air conditioning so plenty of ways to cool off!

Cairns is great, I lived in NZ for many years, and won't be going back, love it here too much !

Enjoy your wedding day!

I used to live in Cairns and yes it gets very hot. But it's not just the heat, it's the humidity which really takes it out of you. Hopefully you get married before the typhoon season! Good luck and I hope Cairns turns on a mild day for you =)

Go along with K Bear's answer, but why, oh why, is this posted on a New Zealand page.
You'd get a better response posting it in Australia.
