Hey there. Im a teenager too. I live in Dunedin. If you love wild cities I suggest you don't come to Dunedin lol. It's not really much of a 'happening' place. It's cold and boring. Although we have malls (the Meridian), cinemas (2 main ones, Hoyts and Rialto), ipod stores (Magnum Mac) and of corse Starbucks (who ever said below me they are plentiful, is wrong. There is only one)!
The university is really good though. It's the only Uni in NZ that has medicine and surveying. www.otago.ac.nz/
The weather is pretty cold here. Check out www.metservice.co.nz. That'll give you our weather.
People here are generally friendly.
We don't really have a large population of younger people so if you're really into partying and etc then I'd suggest Auckland or Wellington.
Good luck. Email me if you have anymore questions!

I love Dunedin, but I wouldn't describe it as wild.
There's kind of one mall...(the Meredian), but mostly just lots of shops.
Starbucks are plentiful.
There are two main cinemas, and lots of other small places that show more artsy films.
There are places to buy ipods.
Dunedin is awesome. Dunedin is cold. Dunedin is, however, not exactally a wild and crazy party city. |

Hey Urbankid
Take no notice of the Dunedin bashers.
Life is what you make of it.
They obviously haven't done much.
The area generally was settled by the Scottish - hence the name. and many of the earlier settlers gave names to rivers mountains etc. Look up as much history as you can. after all you are bringing yourself and your experience to the place snd you will want/need to share it with others.
But, what ever you decide to do I hope that it is agood experience for you. |

Dunedin will be a good place to study. You will have everything you need (without the unnessacary variety of the same type of store or etc.. because of a larger population in other cities, and you can keep track on your studies in a pleasant environment. Do well! |

Dunedin is the student city of New Zealand and there are lots of wild university parties, however Dunedin as a whole is not considered "wild"..there is 1 mall I think, there are a couple of cinemas....other things they have, but its not a huge place anyway (around 100,000 people).... |

Stay in America or wherever you are Dunedin died many years ago. The only action youll find is students burning their couches on the sidewalk. |

An ungrammatical question heading...............
Dunedin is no place for a wild student unless you go wild on boredom.
Otago University is academically one of the best in the world, and students enrolled at it, realize they are there to work.
Those not studying, but looking for other outlets for their energies will become outcasts fairly quickly and will decide to move on.
