akaroa is a holiday resort town ,,,, it very small lovely place ,,,work opportunities nil, bar work , few shops ,, most people that live travel to ch ch to work ,,,

I've only been to Akaroa once, but I'll tell you what I know. It's a pretty small place, probably no more than 800-1000 people, and the lifestyle seems pretty relaxed. Stuff to do... there isn't much, besides "touristy" things like boat tours, but Christchurch isn't too long a drive away, maybe an hour or so.
