How likely is for a Chinese National to get a travel visa to New Zealand?

Hello. I am a Canadian citizen teaching in China and my fiance / girlfriend is a Chinese citizen. I want to take her to New Zealand but I am unsure how difficult it is to get a travel visa.

I checked the New Zealand immigration website and it has a (very long) application form. Once we fill it out is there a good chance it'll be approved provided she meets all the requirements?

In Canada it is very very difficult for Chinese people to get a travel visa and I understand it is the same in a lot of other countries. Does New Zealand fall into the "very difficult" category or will it be easier?

Will she have an easier time travelling because it's with me? I have a contract in China and a job to go home to and Canada doesn't require travel visas for New Zealand. Because we will go together there is a place on the visa application for Partner/Fiance which leads me to believe it might help us with her application.

Anyone with insight, especially someone who has travelled (or at least attempted) to NZ or any other Commonwealth country in a similar situation to us would be most excellent. Of course websites that explain this situation would be good too but my searches came up with only "official" documents, no stories from people who have already done it.
