As one poster has already said, there are various ways to pronounce it, most of which are correct, based on where you are from... My brother-in-law IS Maori, from the South Island and he pronounces it Mow-ree.

Mow-ree but don't get to used to using that word/name as it may change. Im not sure that the pc brigade have made it an official/legal word/term to use yet but stay tuned its still early and it may have an H in there somewhere Im not sure though.

Different localities have different pronunciation of words, usually only slight. But, some forms of some words are very different between regions.
There is no one way that can be termed 'correct'.
The pronunciation of the word given in one region is correct, but for that region only.
You will occasionally hear some Maori pronounce the word with a D instead of an R. To them, that is correct.
