Elizabeth P

I'm getting ready to migrate to Australia. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.?

My son lives here (American) and I would be coming in under the parental migration. Oh, I also have a cat. Thanks so much.

- Probably keep the cat indoors as much as possible (few snakes around)
- Learn how to drive on the other side of the road
- Learn a little bit of the local lingo, once you get there
- Have a first aid kit near you, might want to keep some anti-venom in there or something like that
- Don't be scared to try new things, there are a lot of fun and interesting thing to learn and experience, some might seem a little dangerous, risky, or sometime stupid, but its all in the culture
- Read up on sports like rugby, ruby league, australian footy, netball, cricket
-The cat might have to go into quarantine either, before, after, (or both) the trip, so make sure its had all the necessary shots and stuff like that

So, yeah that's all i can think of at the moment.
hope it helps

Shouldn't you be asking this in the Austalia section?

Aussie is a beautiful country. Find a nice subburb with good comunity groups you can join so you can make new friends and stuff. Just be open - if someone seems really friendly, they probably are! Most aussies are very welcoming.

The other thing is find an airline that has a really good reputation for dealing with pets and make sure the carrier is really secure. I've heard some horrible storied :s
