I am leaving for New Zealand in a few weeks and have a question about travelller's cheques...?
should I purchase traveller's cheques and are they easy to spend there? Also, should I just bring my bancorp south debit card or will I get hefty charges for using it, or should I just bring cash and if so, where can I exchange American money for New Zealand money. Thanks so much in advance for any help!!
I had a blast in new Zealand. I don't like travelers cheques tho. I also just used my debt card and brought american cash, that I exchanged in the airport. And with my debt card I can use it as a credit card, where the money is taken directly out of my account, which is very nice, If yours can do that I would suggest that. Hope this helps and have fun!

yea there shud be a chain of exchange places all over the country known as "thomas cooke foreign exchange" they charge a small fee but the exchange rate is generally pretty good converting US dollars to NZ dollars
