If im on a working visa......in Australia????? help!?

hi. My family are hoping to move to australia next year, But first my dad needs to go over and work over there before he can apply for a residents visa yeah. So we have cousins over there so there going to point him in the right direction first, helpa hel[ him get a job so when he goes over there he will have one straight away. (They live in Brisbane) and thats where my dad will be staying. He is going to find a job there but i have been told the maximum amount of time he can work there is 6 months on a working visa. And i have been told that it can take up to 6 months to over a year. So when should he apply if he can only stay 6months : the process takes longer then he can stay in the country.I'mm Confuse. Any suggestions of peope who have been through this process...... or even know about it. BTW idon'tt need the migrationbureauu site, i have already been on those sites.

i need knowledge.Thank youu every1 :)

Forget Knowledge you need a world map so you can see that Australia and New Zealand are two separate countries BOZZO

If you are from NZ you will be right getting into Australia, so much work there and who is going to do it??
Definitely not the Australians, they don't work! There is a reason why Australia has overtaken USA in the most obese nation stakes!

depends where you are from kiwis dont need visas in aussie we get resident rights straight away after about 3 weeks you can even get family support sorted once you produce a utilities account (power or phone) to show you are renting or own house
i came over in jan and family came in march and we have had no trouble with anything the only thing is hire purchase and credit cards etc take about 2 years of residency to obtain

If you are a UK citizen I would direct you towards this website:

http://www.britishexpats.com

Look in the discussion form and locate the Australia section. Ask any questions you have in there. You will find it really helpful and you will also find others with the same questions.

Good luck

Firstly you'll have to learn the difference between New Zealand and Australia.
In kilometres its like the difference between Britain and Iceland, or Spain and Russia.
In customs and way of life it's like the difference between USA and Canada.
Suggest you google Australian Government sites about immigration.
