Hell yeah I'd go. Visiting Australia would be awesome. I'd definitely go to a foreign country to live as well, the US isn't exactly heaven on Earth these days, I could use a change of scenery. |

It depends upon the circumstances. My daughter went to Brazil for a month when she was invited all expenses paid to go - a girl lived with us for a year on a foreign student exchange program (we were not the sponsors, but she had trouble with them and was not safe, so my daughter asked if we could help and we moved her into our home instead). In appreciation for us helping her out of a bad situation, her parents paid for everything ffor our daughter to go there, including airfare, food, souvenirs, you name it, and she had a wonderful time (she was 16). The girl came back for 2 weeks to be in my daughter's wedding, and the entire family is invited to Brazil to see her wedding next year - my daughter and grandson will be in it. We had no idea what kind of person she was when she came here, and she had no idea how we would be either, but sometimes you have to go with your gut feelings and trust people. |

I live in Australia and its a great place. Come in a few months time after winter. While an Australian winter is mild by European or North American standards, spring or summer are even better.
Two places that you must see if you can are Uluru and the Great Barrier Reef.
According to Yahoo! Travel, these are the best attractions:
Popular Attractions in Australia
Sydney Opera House
Taronga Zoo in Sydney
Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne
Moreton Island near Brisbane
Rottnest Island near Perth
Cottesloe Beach in Perth
Adelaide Oval - great place to watch the cricket
Manly Beach in Sydney
Salamanca Market in Hobart
The Great Ocean Road southwest of Melbourne
Popular Cities in Australia
Sydney, Australia
Melbourne, Australia
Perth, Australia
Cairns, Australia
Brisbane, Australia
Adelaide, Australia
Surfers Paradise, Australia
Canberra, Australia
Hobart, Australia
Darwin, Australia
I live in Australia and I like it. I would travle overseas if I had opportunities but I would retire here. You will never get a better opportunity provided you are happy with the fellow who invited you down. |

I would say "Go with a "back-up plan".
Pay for your own hotel, & transportation.Have a way to disapear if he becomes "over-bearing" or "strange".
People's personality's can be different in there "own country/home-town". It would be a shame if you flew there and this guy was, rude, "clingy", abusive, or MARRIED, (or a serial killer!!!!)
Be CAREFUL! This is how bad horror movies begin!(lol) |

I live in Australia but i would consider moving to another country, It would be pretty scary to leave your country and start over in a new environment but it would be kind of exciting too. And i would have to know that i could come back whenever i felt i needed to...But i would definitely give it a try. |

There are not many things if any that are free!
If you like the person and have a good head over your own shoulder, it may be OK. But be very careful. You just have to use your good judgment not putting yourself in difficult or dangerous situations like anywhere else (at your own home or thousand miles away).
You probably already expect to reciprocate somehow. Just hope you both will come out satisfied (companionship, relationship, etc.).
I moved from another country and (knock on wood) am doing fine. People move all the time.
Just think clearly and with a little luck, good things may happen.
Australia is a great place to visit. The people are very nice. You can just stay for awhile and find out for yourself whether you should move there permanently or not.
Good Luck! |

I would love to visit Australia. I would think about moving there, because parts of Australia have similar climate to where I live.
There are some other countries I would consider living in, or would probably love to live in. New Zealand for one. The US is a great country though. |
