we can't answer because you don't say where you are from & what price they go for in your country. if you are from Asia, like Japan, I assume electronic goods would be much cheaper there than here. you need to consider if a laptop in your country might have some compatability issues here though.

google.co.nz search for laptop prices there & compare with your own country.

also the Noel Leeming clearance centre has ex display models which can be cheaper, but it's their bargain basement place & they don't have a website for that division. They only have a website for their regular full price retail stores.

you can also ask computer geek questions on these 2 websites, they have forums:

computerworld.co.nz

Technology advice you can trust from New Zealand's only PC magazine -
pcworld.co.nz

buy it in nz ,,,, also sales here too

Price it on the net before you go - maybe start with dse.co.nz. I would be surprised if you would save much either way

Laptops seem to be pretty cheap in NZ, because the dollar is good for imports. From what I have seen, it is cheaper than the UK, but I don't know about anywhere else.

Justin. Is that bad?
While i'm not from there I would like to move over aswell, and plan on doing so in two years! From everything I've heard you'd want to buy one here as they're a lot more expensive over there!

Buy it here!! Things such as laptops tend be to be way more expensive over there.

I've just returned to NZ and I bought one in the
States before returning home. Looking around here seems to be cheaper overseas, and a better selection. Just make sure that if you buy one overseas, that there is a service agent in NZ if you need to get it fixed. Not all manufacturers have offices here and you might need to send it to Australia.

Laptops are pretty cheap in NZ as the man says.
There is one company that I know of that specialises in them and sell them at nearly half the ordinary retail price.
Google laptop universe in Christchurch.
The sell from their premises and on Trademe.
