Lovin life

Im worried about nz safety?

Haha, you may think Im stupid but I'm worried for my safety here in New Zealand. 3 murders around the country last night. One not too far from where I live, shootings and stabbings across the country also. What has happend to this country? I think we need to get rid of most Maoris and teach them how to act like civilised people. You may think I look at the bad side of things but I am just wondering why is this country like this now? HAS THE WORLD GONE MAD? What can I do to make the world a better place? I would like to get involved in some church activites helping people to prevent crime or something like that. Any ideas?

For a 14 year old you seem to be very paranoid. When I was your age I wasn't worried about shooting and murders. I have to wonder if you are really Printer's Nephew or Printer himself...

Anyway, like I said in a previous question of yours, New Zealand is relatively safe compared to the rest of the world. Murders happen everywhere. I live in Dunedin and we've had rapes, murders and stabbings but I still feel safe. Especially compared to Sydney.

That's extremely racist to say you think that we should get rid of Maoris. It's an extremely dangerous generalization and also very cowardly of you to say online with a hidden identity. Although the Maori population in New Zealand prisons is very high, it doesn't mean that every Maori is going to act like this. Remember the body found in a suit case in the Auckland harbor? They culprits were Asian, not Maori.

I know Maoris who are very well behaved, far better behaved than people I know of other ethnic groups. I'd say a lot of people need to learn how to act civilized.

To make this world a better place, you can mind your own business and keep out of trouble. Keep and open mind and don't generalize. If you want to help prevent crime in New Zealand I would suggest you offer your services to the Salvation Army or the Red Cross.

EDIT- Mel2... No one needs to go. We should be able to work and live together. If we can't that proves just how uncivilized we all are.

I am a Maori and proud of it, to read your comments about getting rid of most of them I find offensive and very ignorant. I could get mad and say derogatory remarks about your ethnicity but you don't mention your heritage. Anyway I don't think I could lower myself to your level! By the way Maori have been here longer than any other, why don't YOU go. Take heed of the other comments you might learn something, before you save the world mate, begin with changing your prejudice way of thinking.

Geepers - you must live near me, but I don't think so. Just coincidence that there was a stabbing-murder in my suburb on the week-end too. Yes - you have reason to be scared whatever these others say. BUT IT WASN'T A MAORI WHO STABBED THE GUY IN MY AREA. Like any part of the world, it CAN be a socio-economic problem and it just happens that more Maori are represented in that group.
What really concerns me that - you say on one line that we should get rid of most Maoris and on another line you would like to get involved in some church activities. I hate to think what they teach at your church for such a bigoted statement

I agree with almost most of what you write........but not all ,heres why
I am Maori and I dont want to shoot ,stab or hurt anyone , in fact quite the opposite
I could point out that most paedphiles are white males but that would hardly solve the problem
To be honest I think values have declined and people care less about their neighbours now
Many parents are either both working or just "not home' for their kids.......
The mentality is let them learn the hard way how to survive...etc
Kids from all generations learn by ....example.....
Another words from what they see and hear......
Sadly its the generation before them setting the examples and rules

Lighten up mate! New Zealand is still a very safe place ( perhaps one of the safest countries in the world) and a few murders certainly does not jeopardize the safety of Kiwis. I feel very safe being in New Zealand and have never been threatened or intimidated in my life. And please lay off the Maoris as most of them are actually very nice and decent ( I am NZ European " Pakeha" and I have a few Maori mates) people it is just a few buggers that let them down unfortunately. New Zealand is very safe mate!
